Simmba

Fully Autonomous

Sumo Bot

2022

"The last bot to leave the proving grounds will be touted as the king of Sumo Bot. It's the semi-finals and the bot that wins this match will move on to the finals. Bender the right hook Sumo bot has been undefeated for the past year and will face the new bot around the block, Simmba. Simmba has been crushing the veterans with his funny tactics and now has made this far to the tournament. This match is one to remember..."

Simmba is a fully autonomous bot that has 3 modes:

Attack, Defend, and Funny.

These modes are controlled through Bluetooth

Simmba has Motion Tracking capability with the use of 3 Ultrasonic Sensors and a Tower Pro SG90 servo. If Simmba detects you, he will either follow you or run away.

Simmba has a cheap trick up his sleeve to win his matches. This trick is a 4Ohm 3-watt speaker that produces "Funny" sounds to distract his opponents.

Simmba can produce emotions on an SSD1306 Display dependent on his playstyle.

Though Simmba had to be made within a 3-week time limit, he is a strong yet deadly sumo bot. He shouldn't be taken lightly.

If given more time to work on the project. I would work on making the motion tracking smoother.

Motion Tracking

IR Sensor

Simmba uses IR Sensor to stay in the ring. He gets back in the ring if he knows that he's on the black tape

Flaws:
- Simmba will not see the Tape if he's on his fastest attack or defense.

Attack

Simmba Demolishes his enemy.
- Pushes enemy if seen
- Searches for the enemy and follows them
- Uses Motion Tracking to determine enemy position.
- Speeds up to 50% power.

Defend

Simmba Avoids Danger.
- Fakes an attack
- Runs away
- Uses Motion Tracking to fake attack
- Backs up and decides which side is safe to approach.

Funny

Simmba uses his cheap tricks.
- Spins in place
- Blast "Funny" sounds
- Ignores IR Sensors

Simmba can use this mode to get him out of a predicament.
