FRC 263 Deep Space Protoypes
2018
"DESTINATION: DEEP SPACE finds FIRST Robotics Competition teams collecting samples on Planet Primus. Two competing alliances will combat unpredictable terrain and weather patterns, making remote robot operations essential to their mission on the planet."
~ First Inspires
This game mode for First Robotics includes three stages:
-Autonomous (Blinded) Gameplay
-Teleoperated (Driver) Gameplay
-Climbing Phase (End Game)

During the Climbing phase, there are 3 stages that the robots park:
-Stage 1: Level ground (+3 pts)
-Stage 2: 6 in above Stage 1 (+6 pts)
-Stage 3: 1ft 1in above Stage 2 (+12 pts)

Sachem Aftershock incorporated multiple Climb Prototypes with the intent of climbing stage 2. This prototype was created with the theory of having two hooks on the front of the robot, and having the front of the robot lift to stage 2. This prototype was possible with a 40:1 Transmission and a CIM Motor, which allowed max weights of 135lb to lift. Though this design was never used, portions of this prototype have been incorporated into the final design.
