Though you can have multiple components running on your robot, you would need to power and control them. Without power, the components that are implemented won't work, but you can't have the wires and electronics spread across the whole robot. The best way to tackle this issue is to create an Electrical Board which allows the Electrical team to organize their ideas and wires.
Sachem aftershock wanted to create an Electrical Board layout that can be used for years to come. The design that we set out to create should allow the electrical team to have easy access to the board while being in an organized matter.
For First Robotics Infinite Recharge, we had a vision of having the robot's electrical board be accessed like a car's hood. This meant the Electrical board needed safety releases and a bar that pivots the board when it needs to be serviced.
The Board included multiple cable management routes and space for possible Motor Controllers.
This layout method allowed us to plan and understand how each component can be laid out.
